Cod
- (Gadus morrhua), of gadid family, with large economic
importance. Up to 1.5 m long. Feeding on invertebrates and fish,
also of its own species. Marble colour, brown and white, belly and
side line white. Very prolific, lays up to 9 million spawn.
Lives in the north water of the Atlantic and Pacific. In world
catches it is second after herring. Valuable liver, processed to
fish paste, cod-liver oil and vitamins A and D are obtained.

Tops: King Net and Nagaura, mesh from 53-55, three-,
four- and eight-torsion.
